Golfers and Famous Events

Like with every sport, there are very important players and events involved in the game. Golf is no different to any other sport. There are golfers that make millions year in, year out and this is because of their success. Take Tiger Woods as an example. Tiger has been playing golf from a very young age, in fact from the age of two years old. He kept on working hard at his golfing game from the start and he was just a natural golfer. This is a major part of his career which has led him to much success in the game of golf. He has won 14 major events (The Master, USPGA, The US Open and the British Open) and is worth over $600 million! Even though he was worth that amount of money and the amount of major tournaments he has won, he is still not the most successful golfer of all time. That honour goes to Jack Nicklaus.

There are many famous events in golf, mainly because of the iconic winners of that tournament, the amount of money involved if you win and also what golf course it is played on. There are four 'majors' in golf. These majors are The Masters, The U.S Open, The U.S.P.G.A and The British Open. All of these events are the four of the most important in the golfing, the most important is The Ryder Cup, the match between the United States and Europe. This event is played every two years, and alternates between courses in the US and Europe. The last Ryder Cup was played in 2014 in Gleneagles Golf Club in Wales, where Europe beat the US by quite a large margin. This is why I love watching golf because of the excitement involved in the sport. It is very easy to get attracted to.
